Easy Peasy Green Dip

pea dip melissa hemsley

Got frozen peas? Make this 5 minute Easy Peasy Green Dip! It also works wonderfully with frozen broad beans or edamame too so use whatever you’ve got here. This is highly dippable and versatile so enjoy dipping or spreading on things. Serve with your favourite crackers or chop up some cucumber or carrots to dip into or serve as a side mash for later or if you’ve got eggs, it’s lovely with an egg on toast.

If you’ve got hold of lovely fresh herbs and cheese then add them in, but if not, don’t worry. If you are using fresh herbs, use the stems too (except mint stems, save those for brewing a fresh mint tea).

  1. Defrost the peas by simmering for a few minutes. For speed, add a little just boiled water over the top, leave until defrosted then drain. If you’re using broad beans or edamame, they need a touch more time so simmer them for about 3 minutes until they are tender.
  2. Then whizz everything up until chunky or smooth or chunkyish (however you like) adding a few tbsp cold water if it needs it. Season to taste.
