The whole family will love this simple stew. My Polish friend, Kris gave me a huge Polish cook book and I mix and matched a few recipes to make this one pot wonder. Use any white beans in your cupboard and feel free to use a combination of bacon or lardons and sausage if you have a bit of both in the fridge. If you don’t eat pork, use a beef, lamb or turkey sausage and the tangy red cabbage looks stunning against the stew but any cabbage goes here. This dish freezes particularly well so it’s one of my favourite recipes to triple up on to keep on hand for a rainy day.
